This week was less about another slightly-faster CoreXY and more about ecosystems.
Prusa’s INDX nozzle problem is now delaying shipments. HeyGears is blurring the line between 3D printer and UV production machine. And FullSpectrum color printing is starting to attract filament designed specifically around the technique.
Here’s what mattered.
The 60‑Second Extrusion:
Prusa delayed INDX conversion kits to mid-August: while Bondtech works out compensation for the nozzle-hardness problem. Prusa says some first-batch orders may slip beyond August. prusa3d.com.

Nozzlegate is now delaying INDX shipments
What happened: Prusa postponed CORE One/+ INDX conversion-kit shipping until mid-August while Bondtech works out compensation for the nozzles that were sold as hardened and abrasive-resistant but did not meet the expected hardness specification.
Prusa also says nozzle supply could prevent the entire first batch from shipping by the end of August.
The interesting new detail is Prusa’s own wear testing: roughly 5kg of PETG-CF apparently caused little visible wear, while around 100g of extremely abrasive Ultraglow wore through the surface protection and quickly degraded extrusion accuracy.
Why it matters: This is no longer just an argument about marketing language. It is delaying hardware people have already paid for.
It also shows that “not fully hardened” does not mean “instantly useless.” The risk depends heavily on what abrasive material you actually print.
Who should care: CORE One/+ owners, INDX buyers, composite-filament users and anyone considering a proprietary toolhead platform.
Extruder Report verdict: Prusa’s test results add useful nuance, but the core problem remains simple: buyers were promised one specification and got another. The next important announcement is not another explanation—it is the actual replacement or compensation plan.

HeyGears is mixing UV printing with full-color 3D printing
What happened: HeyGears’ G1/G1X platform combines traditional UV flatbed printing, 5mm raised texture, transparent/color work and full-color 3D output in one desktop-class system.
The top G1X configuration is aimed much more at serious creators and small businesses than ordinary hobbyists.
Why it matters: Most consumer 3D printers compete on speed, color count or toolchanging. This competes with the entire finishing process.
If a machine can produce a full-color object without sanding, painting and decals, the economics start looking very different for props, miniatures, signage and custom merchandise.
Who should care: Etsy sellers, prop makers, sign shops, model makers and anyone already using UV printers alongside 3D printing.
Extruder Report verdict: Very interesting—but wait for real operating-cost numbers. Ink, resin, cleaning cycles and printheads can turn an impressive machine into an expensive production habit very quickly.

FullSpectrum is becoming a filament ecosystem
What happened: 3D-Fuel expanded its Pro PCTG range with cyan, magenta, yellow, white and two black/translucent materials aimed at FullSpectrum-style color mixing.
Instead of changing filament for every visible color, FullSpectrum creates “virtual” colors by layering translucent base colors in controlled combinations.
Why it matters: This started as a clever slicer technique. Filament companies are now making actual CMYK-oriented products around it.
That is a sign the idea may have legs.
Who should care: Multicolor users, HueForge creators, decorative-product sellers and anyone tired of huge purge blocks.
Extruder Report verdict: This is one of the more interesting multicolor developments because it attacks the problem with software and material science instead of adding more mechanical complexity.

ELEGOO Centauri Carbon — about $309: The original Centauri Carbon is currently listed around $309, down from a $419.99 reference price.
That is a lot of enclosed CoreXY printer for barely more than $300.
The catch: Make sure you are comparing the original Centauri Carbon with the newer Carbon 2. Similar names make price comparisons messy.
Also worth checking: Creality’s current back-to-school sale is advertising discounts of up to 50% across selected hardware.
Community Pulse:
H2C owners are still chasing under-extrusion: One of the busiest H2C troubleshooting conversations continues to revolve around inconsistent extrusion, bed tramming, heat soak, nozzle behavior and profile differences.
That does not mean every H2C has an extrusion problem.
It does mean the issue has been persistent enough to generate more than 150 replies and months of testing.

Print Farm Note:
Cheap printers are no longer the hard part: An enclosed CoreXY machine around $300–$400 and filament around $12–$15/kg changes the math for small farms.
But it also exposes the real bottleneck.
If you already own several reliable printers, machine count may not be what is limiting revenue. The constraint may be:
Packaging
Customer messages
Product photography
Swapping materials
Failed-print recovery
Listing creation
Licensing
Design work
Post-processing
Before buying printer number six, measure what printers one through five are actually waiting on.
That usually tells you where the next investment belongs.

Final Layer:
The interesting trend this week is that the value is moving away from the printer itself.
FullSpectrum depends on slicer logic and calibrated filament. INDX depends on proprietary tools and their replacement ecosystem. HeyGears is trying to eliminate finishing. SindriCAD is optimizing the path from CAD directly into printable geometry.
Speed still matters.
But the next serious competitive advantage may be everything surrounding the motion system rather than the motion system itself.
